Low roof pitches, open ceilings, and plan geometry that carries into the
detailing of the windows and exposed beams gives this design its distinctly
organic character. The structure of the great room is exposed inside and
outside unifying the design and displaying the honesty of the structure.
The house is organized around the high lofty space of the Great Room and
Entry. The plan provides a master suite, and guest room on the main level
and two Bedrooms or office in the walk out basement. The Rec Room in the
basement aligns directly below the Great Room and shares the same strong
window geometry and structural piers.
The lower level has a large unfinished area for workshop, storage, or future
expansion. The owners have since expanded the Master Suite and added a
Screen Porch off the Kitchen. The garage could be rotated 90 degrees for a
side entry.
